The Audi R8 RWS (Rear Wheel Series) is a premium rear-wheel-drive mid-engined sports car available in two versions (coupe and soft-top roadster) and, in combination, the first production road car of the Audi brand to have rear-wheel drive ...

It is addressed primarily to wealthy people who value, above all, the pleasure of driving ...

The strictly limited edition car made its official debut in mid-September 2017 on the catwalks of the Frankfurt International Motor Show - according to the automaker, this two-door brings to life the dynamic concept of the R8 LMS racing car on city streets.

The Audi R8 RWS looks as beautiful, impressive and aggressive as the all-wheel drive model, and its distinctive features are the matte paint of the air intakes and radiator grill and colored decals that decorate the body.

The rear-wheel drive coupe is 4426 mm long, 1940 mm wide (2037 mm including mirrors), and 1240 mm high (the roadster is 4 mm higher). A 2650 mm wheelbase fits between the wheelsets of the car.

The curb weight of the two-door varies from 1509 to 1680 kg, depending on the modification.

Inside, the Audi R8 RWS repeats the standard model - a minimalist design imbued with sporty accents, fine-tuned ergonomics, high-quality materials, quality workmanship, a two-seater layout and a 104-liter trunk located in front of the cab.

A rear-wheel drive car can only be recognized by the special leather and Alcantara seat trim.

The Audi R8 V10 RWS, respectively, is powered by a 5.2-liter V-shaped petrol 10-cylinder FSI engine with combined fuel injection, variable intake manifold, variable valve timing on all camshafts and a chain drive that generates 540 horsepower at 8250 rpm and 540 Nm of peak thrust at 6500 rpm.
It mates with a 7-speed preselective "robot" S tronic and rear-wheel drive transmission.

Depending on the bodywork solution, this supercar “fires” from a standstill to 100 km / h after 3.7-3.8 seconds, and its maximum capabilities do not exceed 318-320 km / h.

Structurally, the Audi R8 RWS repeats the all-wheel drive "brother" - it is based on the MSS platform with an engine located within the base and a body structure that combines aluminum and carbon fiber.

Along the "circle" the car is equipped with independent double wishbones with adaptive shock absorbers, and an electromechanical amplifier is integrated into its steering complex.

All wheels of the sports car are equipped with ventilated discs of the brake system, complemented by a bunch of electronic assistants.

This dvuhdverka also differs from the "original" model in the steering and chassis settings.

A total of 999 copies of the Audi R8 V10 RWS will be produced: for a coupe they ask for a minimum of 140,000 euros, and for a roadster - 153,000 euros (~ 9.67 and 10.57 million rubles, at the exchange rate for autumn 2017, respectively).
In terms of standard and additional equipment, the two-door is almost identical to the all-wheel drive model.
