In April 2007, at an international bride show in New York, the luxury brand Infiniti showed the world a new compact crossover EX, however, only in the form of a concept model. Its serial incarnation appeared before the public in August of the same year at the California Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The year of changes for the SUV was 2013 - it was then, as a result of rebranding, it was named the new name QX50.

Infiniti EX looks great from any angle, although its appearance is almost completely devoid of brutality. Body shapes with overflowing "muscles" on the sides combine the features of a crossover and a coupe: an arched profile raised above the ground with a rearward-shifted cabin, crowned with the brand's signature features - L-shaped headlights and a "trapezium" of the radiator grille.

The dimensions of the compact premium crossover do not go beyond the segment: 4635 mm in length, 1600 mm in height and 1800 mm in width. The wheelbase of the car has an impressive 2800 mm, but the ground clearance is modest in its parameters - only 150 mm.

The interior of the Infiniti EX looks luxurious and expensive, and there is no doubt about belonging to the Japanese brand - a small three-spoke multi-steering wheel, a laconic and informative instrument cluster, as well as a solid center console with a 7-inch "TV", controls for "music" and "Climate" and, most importantly, branded oval watches. The furniture is finished with expensive materials - pleasant plastics, high-quality leather and aluminum inserts.

The premium crossover "flaunts" comfortable front seats with advanced side support and electric settings. The rear sofa offers plenty of legroom and width, but the drop-down roof hangs over the tops of the taller passengers.

The luggage compartment of the Infiniti EX is only 309 liters. The split back of the second row is folded by means of an electric drive, however, it does not come out of a flat floor. Only a compact "spare wheel" is placed in the niche under the raised floor.

Specifications. The crossover was offered with three petrol and one diesel power plants to choose from, combined with a 7-band automatic and a plug-in all-wheel drive system (in normal modes, all the moment goes to the rear wheels, the front ones are activated when slipping or a quick start).

  • Under the hood of the basic version EX25 installed V-shaped "six" with a volume of 2.5 liters, which releases 222 horsepower of recoil at 6400 rpm, as well as 252 Nm of torque at 4800 rpm. Such a car accelerates to 100 km / h in 9.4 seconds, gaining a possible 210 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is limited to 10.6 liters per 100 kilometers.
  • It is followed in the hierarchy by the version EX35, equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, the output of which has 297 "horses" and 343 Nm of ultimate traction supplied to the wheels at 6800 rpm. These parameters allow the crossover to gain 231 km / h "maximum", accelerating to the first hundred in just 6.9 seconds and "eating" an average of 12.3 liters of gasoline in the combined mode.
  • "Top" performance is designated EX37, and in its bins there is a six-cylinder unit with a V-shaped layout, which with a volume of 3.7 liters generates 325 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 362 Nm of torque at 5200 rpm. From a standstill to 100 km / h, the premium "Japanese" is able to "shoot" in just 6.4 seconds, exchanging a peak of 240 km / h. The car costs 12.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
  • Diesel modification of Infiniti EX30d is driven by a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, which has a capacity of 240 mares at 3750 rpm and 550 Nm of thrust at 1750 rpm. The crossover's capabilities are as follows: 7.9 seconds acceleration to the first hundred, 221 km / h top speed and 8.5 liters of diesel fuel in mixed mode.

The EX premium SUV is based on the Front Midship bogie with the engine behind the front axle. At the front, the suspension is a double-wishbone aluminum structure, and at the rear, it is a multi-link arrangement, which implies separate placement of shock absorbers and springs. The power steering is used in the steering mechanism, and the braking system is expressed by disc devices on all wheels.

Prices. In 2015, a supported "EX" can be purchased on the Russian market at a price of 800,000 to 1,500,000 rubles - the final cost depends on the year of production, technical condition and equipment level. Even the most "simple" crossover has such options as leather interior, bi-xenon optics, premium audio system, dual-zone "climate", full power accessories, multimedia complex, 18-inch wheels, etc.
