The next, fourth in a row, generation of the "charged" three-volume Audi S8 with the in-plant index "D5" was presented to the world community on July 2, 2019 during a virtual presentation, declassifying its main characteristics, corporate images and design features, but a full-fledged premiere of its "brainchild" The Germans spent only in the middle of November of the same year.
Compared to its predecessor, the car has improved in all directions, without exception, but most importantly, it has become more powerful (retaining the V8 gasoline engine under the hood) and more dynamic.
Externally, the "fourth" Audi S8 can boast of an elegant, monumental and noble, but at the same time quite restrained appearance, which practically does not differ from the usual "eight". This is how the “charged” sedan can be recognized by the silver mirror housings, logos with the letter “S”, original 21-inch wheels and a pair of large-caliber “double-barreled” exhaust systems.
The length of the representative four-door is 5179 mm, of which 2998 mm is the distance between the wheelsets of the front and rear axles, and in width and height it fits in 1945 mm and 1474 mm, respectively. When equipped, the vehicle weighs 2305 kg, and its gross weight does not exceed 2835 kg.

The interior space of the fourth generation Audi S8 meets its inhabitants with an attractive, technologically advanced and "thoroughbred" design, which does not give out much of its "charged" essence - it differs from the usual sedan "Esca" only in logos with the letter "S", a special carbon fiber decor with a three-dimensional effect yes sports front seats with a developed side profile and all the "blessings of civilization".

Design features
The fourth incarnation of the Audi S8 as a whole repeats the usual A8 sedan - a modular MLB Evo "bogie" with a longitudinally mounted engine, a monocoque body consisting of aluminum (58%), high-strength steel, composite materials and magnesium, independent suspensions of both axles (double wishbone front and rear five-lever), active electric power steering and ventilated disc brakes "in a circle".
At the same time, the already standard "charged" sedan boasts air suspension with active electromechanical stabilizers and a forecasting function, as well as a fully controlled chassis, which increases maneuverability at low speeds and stability at high speeds.
In addition, for a surcharge, the car relies on a carbon-ceramic braking system with ten-piston calipers and 420 mm discs at the front and 370 mm at the rear.
