Volkswagen Caddy Kasten is a front or all-wheel drive all-metal van belonging to the segment of "light commercial vehicles", combining excellent technical and operational characteristics in a "compact format" ... Its main task is to transport various types of goods, and, first of all, in urban environments ...

The fifth-generation Volkswagen Caddy removable heel was presented to the world community on February 21, 2020 as part of a special event held in the German city of Dusseldorf. After the "reincarnation", the car was significantly transformed externally and internally, moved to a new platform and received a wide range of options.

The exterior of the "fifth" Volkswagen Caddy Kasten is cut in the same vein as the cargo-passenger model, but it will not be difficult to recognize it, especially at the back - the van has no rear glazing at all.

The standard version of the "heel" is 4501 mm long, of which the wheelbase is 2755 mm, 1797 mm in height and ~ 1850 mm in width.

As for the elongated Maxi version, it is 349 mm longer, and its center distance is 215 mm larger.

In the interior of the cargo Volkswagen Caddy of the fifth incarnation, as a whole, it repeats the compact MPV - stylish and modern design, well-thought-out ergonomics and a good level of performance.

However, the van is only able to accommodate two people, who rely on ergonomic seats with wide adjustment intervals.

The volume of the cargo compartment of the car in the standard version is 3.3 cubic meters, while the Maxi-modification can already accommodate 4 cubic meters of luggage (two Euro pallets will fit here at once).

From a technical point of view, the "fifth" Volkswagen Caddy in the cargo version does not differ from the cargo-passenger version - the van is equipped with 2.0-liter TDI turbo diesel engines with double injection, generating 75-122 horsepower, as well as a 1.5-liter TSI gasoline turbo engine, which develops 116 liters. from.

The engines are stitched together with a 6-speed "mechanics" or 7-speed "robot" DSG, as well as with driving front wheels, but for a 122-horsepower diesel and 116-horsepower petrol units, an all-wheel drive system is offered for an extra charge.

Structurally, the fifth generation Volkswagen Caddy van is identical to the compact van of the same name - a modular MQB "bogie" at the base, an independent MacPherson-type suspension in front and a dependent spring architecture at the rear, a rack and pinion steering mechanism with an electromechanical power steering, disc brakes "in a circle" (on the front axle - with ventilation ).

In the European market, the fifth generation Volkswagen Caddy Kasten will appear on sale in the first half of 2020, but it will only reach Russia at the beginning of 2021, and the car will clearly add to the price.
