Mazda 6 is a front-wheel drive sedan of the mid-size category, which is the flagship of the "light line" of the Japanese automaker, which combines: attractive design, modern technical "stuffing" and good "driving" potential ... The main target audience of this car is wealthy men who have not yet had time to exchange fourth dozen who have their own business or hold a responsible position ...

The 3rd generation Mazda 6 sedan "celebrated" its official premiere at the Moscow International Auto Show in August 2012.

And at an exhibition in Los Angeles in November 2014, an updated version of this model was presented, which survived the design refinements and "filling" characteristic of the middle of the life cycle.

In August 2016, a global debut took place on the Web, once again the "prettier six", which this time acquired a number of technical "chips" and previously inaccessible equipment, but remained without any visual improvements.

Well, in November 2017, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, a four-door car appeared before the public, which had already undergone the third restyling, but it reached the Russian market only a year after the premiere.

The car has undergone minimal external changes (new bumpers, lights, radiator grille and chrome decor), received a reinforced and more rigid body, noticeably changed inside (redrawn front panel and modified seats), "armed" with modernized (and one new) motors and did not previously available modern equipment.

The exterior of the "six" is sustained in the corporate design philosophy called "Kodo" (the soul of movement). At the front, the car demonstrates head optics (in expensive versions - fully LED), a trapezoidal radiator grille with chrome design, as a result of which it looks expressive and expensive, and its moderately aggressive look inspires a sense of respect.

The long bonnet, sleek roofline, compact boot lid and prominent wheel arches make the 6 sedan's silhouette one of the most exhilarating in the D-class, while the shark-fin antenna and slightly darkened rims (optional 19-inch) add to the silhouette of the Japanese the three-volume is a bit sporty.

The feed of the "six" looks at the same time solid and dynamic, which is especially distinguished by a small spoiler on the trunk lid, stylish optics with LED filling and a pair of exhaust pipes.

Mazda 6 is a representative of the D-class, but in terms of its overall dimensions it is very close to the models of the higher segment. The length of the sedan is 4870 mm, height - 1450 mm, width - 1840 mm.

A decent wheelbase of 2,830 mm provides a solid interior space, and 165 mm ground clearance is sufficient for Russian roads.

Inside, the 2019 Mazda 6 welcomes its occupants with a beautiful, stylish and sporty-cut interior, saturated with minimalism and somewhat reminiscent of BMW cars. A classic instrument cluster with three arrow rounds (as an option, the speedometer and adjacent secondary scales are replaced by a 7-inch display), a relief multi-steering wheel with a three-spoke rim, a laconic front panel with a protruding 8-inch multimedia system tablet and an extremely clear microclimate unit "- the interior of the sedan is simply nothing to blame.

In addition to this, the decoration of a mid-size four-door boasts well-thought-out ergonomics, good finishing materials and a high-quality level of assembly.

The third generation Mazda 6 is equipped with comfortable front seats with prominent lateral support, moderately dense filling and wide adjustment ranges.

The rear sofa with a good layout will easily accept three adult passengers, since there is a lot of space on all fronts (except that the protruding transmission tunnel will slightly interfere with the middle rider). From the elements of convenience, individual ventilation deflectors, a central armrest and heating can be distinguished.

The wide opening and moderate loading height will appeal to business owners, but the volume of the luggage compartment of this sedan is small - 429 liters. The backrest of the rear seat is matched to the floor, adding room for long items to be transported. In the bins of the "hold" there is a small spare wheel and neatly packed tools.

In the Russian market, the Mazda 6 of the third generation is offered with three four-cylinder petrol engines to choose from, which are combined exclusively with a 6-band "automatic" and a front-wheel drive transmission:

  • The basic version is the atmospheric "four" SKYACTIV-G with a volume of 2.0 liters, equipped with direct fuel injection into the combustion chamber, the output of which has 150 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 213 Nm of maximum torque at 4000 rpm.
  • One step higher is the 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G unit with a direct "power supply" system, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and variable valve timing, developing 194 hp. at 6000 rpm and 258 Nm of peak thrust at 4000 rpm.
  • The "top" versions relies on the same 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G engine, but with a turbocharger, resulting in a potential of 231 hp. at 5000 rpm and 420 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.

From one place to the first "hundred" three-volumetric accelerates after 7 ~ 10.5 seconds, gains maximum 207 ~ 239 km / h, and under combined conditions "eats" from 6.5 to 7.7 liters of fuel for every 100 km of track, depending on the modification.

In the European market, the Mazda 6 is also available with a 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel unit, which, depending on the degree of boost, produces 150 or 175 "horses" of power. But the main thing is different - in the countries of the Old World for this car, after modernization, a new generation all-wheel drive system began to be offered.

At the heart of the "third" Mazda 6 is the front-wheel drive platform "Mazda Skyactiv Platform" with a monocoque body made of 60% high-strength steel grades, and a transversely mounted power plant.
On the front "axle" of the third generation sedan, a suspension with classic McPherson struts is installed, on the rear there is a four-link structure.

Each of the wheels boasts disc brakes (ventilated at the front) and an anti-lock braking system. The steering gear is complemented by an active electric amplifier.

As standard, the car is equipped with the G-Vectoring Control system, which controls the engine response in response to steering deflections and ensures the most even redistribution of loads that take place during acceleration, braking and cornering.

On the Russian market, the "third" Mazda 6 2019 model year is offered in six trim levels to choose from - "Drive", "Active", "Supreme", "Supreme Plus", "Executive" and "Executive Plus".

The basic sedan is sold exclusively with a 2.0-liter engine at a price of 1,451,000 rubles, and its equipment includes: six airbags, LED headlights with a washer, ABS, ESP, EBD, EBA, TCS, an audio system with four speakers, 17 -inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, electronic handbrake, G-Vectoring Control technology, fog lights, power windows for all doors and other equipment.

For a modification with a 194-horsepower unit (installed with the "Active" configuration), you will have to pay at least 1,616,000 rubles, but the "top version" with a turbo engine will cost from 2,172,000 rubles.

The most "packed" three-volume boasts: electric drive and ventilation of the front seats, a media center with an 8-inch screen, heated rear sofa, a head-up display, leather interior trim, 19-inch "rollers", front and rear parking sensors, all-round cameras, an audio system Bose with 11 speakers, a blind spot monitoring system, lane control technology, electrically folding side mirrors, keyless entry and engine start, as well as the darkness of other "bells and whistles".
