On the opening day of the international motor show in Beijing - April 25, 2016 - the car manufacturer Renault presented the second generation Koleos mid-size crossover to the world (yes - contrary to expectations, it retained its former name).
The flagship of the all-terrain palette of the French brand (surpassing its predecessor in absolutely all respects) went on sale in the markets of a number of “eastern” countries in the third quarter of 2016, it “reached” Europe only at the beginning of 2017, and reached the Russian market in the summer.
Externally, the "second" Renault Koleos is made in the new style of the French brand, which has already been tried on by "Talisman" and some other models. The SUV instantly attracts the eye with graceful and embossed contours of the five-door body, decorated with aggressive headlights with "brackets" of running lights, lush influx of wheel arches that accommodate beautiful "rollers" measuring from 17 to 19 inches, and spectacular "clips" of the taillights.
The length of the 2nd generation "Koleos" is 4672 mm, its width and height are 1843 mm and 1673 mm, respectively. The crossover has a 2705 mm axle distance, and its ground clearance in the "stowed" form is a decent 210 mm.
Inside, Renault Koleos 2017 model year demonstrates a "family" design with an 8.7-inch "tablet" of the multimedia system and a stylish climate "control" in the center of the composition (however, in the basic versions, a horizontally oriented 7-inch screen is used). The cool three-spoke steering wheel and modern "instrumentation" with a 7-inch display in place of the speedometer harmoniously fit into the given concept.
The five-seater off-road vehicle promises to be comfortable for passengers, and not only thanks to well-profiled seats, but also a large amount of free space (according to this indicator, the French themselves call the car one of the best in the class).
The second-generation "Koleos" has a roomy trunk to match - its volume in the standard state is 538 liters, and with the rear seats folded down, it increases to 1690 liters (in this case, a completely flat area for luggage is formed).
Specifications. The "second" Renault Koleos is delivered to Russia with three power units, all of which are installed together exclusively with the X-Tronic continuously variable variator and the All Mode 4 × 4-I all-wheel drive transmission with a multi-plate clutch, which, depending on road conditions, can shift up to 50% traction on the wheels of the rear axle:

With such a "heart", the crossover conquers the first "hundred" after 11.3 seconds, maximally accelerates to 187 km / h and "drinks" no more than 7.5 liters of fuel in mixed mode.
- Its "big brother" is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated "four" with a direct "power supply" system, 16-valve timing and variable valve timing technology, producing 171 "mares" at 6000 rpm and 233 Nm of maximum potential at 4000 rpm ... In this version, the car breaks down from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.8 seconds, accelerates to 199 km / h and consumes about 8.3 liters of gasoline in combined conditions.
- The flagship engine and the only diesel in the range is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a turbocharger, 16 valves and direct injection, which produces 177 "stallions" at 3750 rpm and 380 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. Such a five-door is sent to conquer the "second hundred of the speedometer" after 9.5 seconds, the peak of its capabilities falls on 201 km / h, and the fuel consumption does not exceed 5.8 liters in the "highway / city" mode.
The Renault Koleos 2nd generation is based on the Renault-Nissan alliance modular "bogie" under the designation CMF-C / D with an independent structure based on MacPherson struts at the front and multi-link suspension at the rear.
The car has a rack and pinion steering system with an electric power steering and a variable gear ratio, and all its wheels are hidden by disc brakes, complemented by a set of modern electronic "assistants".
Options and prices. In the Russian market, Renault Koleos of the second generation in 2017 can be purchased in two equipment options - "Executive" and "Premium".
- For the "initial" configuration, available exclusively with a 2.0-liter petrol engine, dealers ask for a minimum of 1,749,000 rubles. It includes: six airbags, ABS, ESP, dual-zone "climate", a multimedia system with a 7-inch monitor, heated front seats, windshield and steering wheel, a rear-view camera, cruise control, parking sensors, 18-inch wheels , LED lights, engine start from a button and other "gadgets".
- For the "top" version with a 2.5-liter "four" will have to pay at least 2,059,000 rubles, and with a diesel unit - 2,219,000 rubles. Its privileges are: leather interior trim, electrically adjustable front seats, 8.7-inch screen of the infotainment complex, LED headlights, light and rain sensors, monitoring of blind spots and some other options.
