The Audi SQ5 is a high-performance version of the compact premium crossover from Ingolstadt, “prepared” according to the standard “recipe”: a sporty exterior, a powerful engine in the engine compartment and more “hardy” technology.

At the exhibition of the automotive industry in Detroit, which started on January 9, 2017, the premiere of the "charged" off-road vehicle of the second generation took place, which, like the base "brother", slightly enlarged in size, tried on a technocratic interior, overgrown with new options and "armed" with a modernized engine, but at the same time it did not become more powerful.

The appearance of the German "lighter" in comparison with the regular model is embellished with more expressive bumpers, a radiator grill with black accents, silver mirror housings, twin exhaust pipes, SQ5 nameplates and special design wheels. Such tricks practically did not change the appearance of the car, except that they only made it a little sportier.

The length of the "second" Audi SQ5 extends to 4671 mm, and the width and height of its body do not go beyond 1893 mm and 1635 mm, respectively. The SUV has a base length of 2824 mm between the wheelsets. The curb weight is 1995 kg.

In the saloon of the S-version of the Ku-Fifth, attention is drawn to the eye-catching stitching on the steering wheel and seats, winged metal pedals, carbon-look inserts on the dashboard, center console and doors, and some other elements jewelry from the arsenal of "S-paraphernalia". In general, the SUV inside repeats the standard "brother" - a strict but sophisticated design, modern technology and high quality materials and workmanship.

And in terms of cargo-passenger capabilities, the Audi SQ5 of the second generation does not differ from the base model - a five-seat layout and a "hold" that can hold from 550 to 610 liters of luggage in the "stowed" form, and 1550 liters with a folded back sofa.

Specifications. The engine compartment of the "hot" SUV is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI aluminum gasoline engine operating according to the Miller cycle, with a two-flow turbocharger implanted in the camber, the AVS valve lift adjustment system, direct injection and 32 valves. It develops 354 "horses" at 5000-6500 rpm and 500 Nm of peak torque at 1370-4500 rpm.

The engine on the car is stitched with an 8-band Tiptronic "automatic" and quattro all-wheel drive, which is configured by default with an emphasis on the rear wheels, but, if necessary, redirects the moment to the axle with better grip. A limited-slip rear axle differential is available as an option for the five-door.

In the "driving" disciplines, the "second" Audi SQ5 shows good results: it overcomes the starting "spurt" up to 100 km / h after 5.4 seconds, conquering the bar of 250 km / h (the peak of possibilities is limited by electronics), and consumes 8.3-8.5 liters of gasoline a mixed "hundred".

Like the base "brother", the S-crossover is built on a modular platform MLB evo with a "two-lever" in front and a "five-link" at the rear. As standard, the car "flaunts" adaptive shock absorbers, an electric booster with sporty settings and ventilated disc brakes on all wheels (naturally, more "hardy" than on the standard model) with a bunch of auxiliary "gadgets". Among the "special stages" are the pneumatic chassis and steering with variable effort.

Options and prices. In the Russian market, prices for the second incarnation of the Audi SQ5 in 2017 start at 4,100,000 rubles.
The basic configuration of the "charged" crossover contains: seven airbags, 20-inch wheel disks, fully LED optics, dual-zone "climate", adaptive shock absorbers, leather trim, an audio system with 10 speakers, a multimedia complex, heated sports front seats and electric drive, as well as other "bells and whistles".
In addition, an extensive list of additional "goodies" is provided for the five-door.
