At the Geneva exhibition of automotive focus in March 2014, the premiere show of the third-generation Fiat Panda subcompact took place in the "off-road" version with the "Cross" postscript in the name, which received not only a more combat look compared to the standard "brother", but also "jeep" manners ... In September 2016, the car underwent minor improvements - the interior was refreshed, new shades were added to the color scheme and the infotainment system was updated.

Outwardly recognizing the Fiat Panda Cross is not difficult - the off-road vehicle is distinguished by combat bumpers, a developed plastic body kit around the perimeter of the body, “exposed” towing eyes, stylish overlays on lighting equipment and 15-inch wheels of a unique design. Such tricks turned the small car into a real "fighter", ready to conquer off-road (albeit easy).

The "off-road" version of the "Panda" in its dimensions does not go beyond the A-class: 3705 mm in length, 1657 mm in height and 1662 mm in width. The wheelbase of the "Italian" is 2300 mm, and the clearance under the "belly" is 150-160 mm (depending on the engine).

The interior of the "cross-country" Fiat Panda does not differ from the "civilian" model - a design built on rectangles with rounded corners, ergonomics that do not conflict with naive forms, and solid finishing materials.

The car is capable of taking on board four adults, and its luggage compartment can hold from 225 to 870 liters (while underground there is a "dock" and a set of tools).

Specifications. For Fiat Panda Cross, two engines are offered, which interact with "manual" transmissions (on gasoline versions with a 6-speed, and on diesel - with a 5-speed) and an automatically connected full.

  • The first option is a 0.9-liter two-cylinder gasoline engine with turbocharging, multi-point "power supply" and an 8-valve timing, which develops 85 "horses" at 5500 rpm and 145 Nm of peak thrust at 1900 rpm.
  • The second is a 1.2-liter turbo diesel with four "pots", 16 valves and a Common Rail system, the potential of which is 80 "horses" at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 1500 rpm.

All-wheel drive on an Italian off-road vehicle, in addition to electronic imitation of differential locks and stabilization technology, has in its arsenal a Terrain Control selector with three modes of operation (Auto - automatic torque division between the axles; Lock - permanent four-wheel drive; Hill Descent - for driving on hilly terrain).

From the start to 100 km / h, Fiat Panda Cross “breaks down” after 12-14.3 seconds and reaches a maximum of 160-167 km / h. The petrol version "digests" 4.9 liters of fuel in the combined mode, and the diesel version - 4.7 liters.

In technical terms, the "SUV" has no significant differences from the usual "Panda": the "Fiat Mini" platform with a MacPherson-style suspension in front and a semi-independent layout at the rear, rack and pinion control with electric booster and disc brakes on all wheels (ventilated on the front axle) with ABS, EBD and other electronics.

Options and prices. On the Russian market "Cross-Panda" from Fiat is not officially supplied, but at home it is sold at a price of 19,950 euros.
As standard, the car is equipped with: four airbags, an air conditioner, an audio system with six speakers, 15-inch wheels, EBD, ABS, ASR, ESC, Brake Assist, four power windows, a Start / Stop system, hill start assist technology and others modern "chips".
