In November 2014, the Chinese city of Guangzhou hosted an international exhibition for the automotive industry - in which Chery presented a new compact sedan called Arrizo 3 to the public.
A few weeks after the official premiere, the car went on sale in the "native" market for itself, but in the foreseeable future it can reach the Russian dealerships of the brand.
On the one hand, the appearance of Chery Arrizo 3 is quite distinctive, but on the other hand, some similarity with other three-volume "state employees" can be seen in its outlines. In general, the car looks fresh and pretty, keeping up with the trends of the modern market for affordable sedans - stylish lighting equipment, highly embossed bumpers and a harmonious profile.
The overall dimensions of the Chery Arrizo 3 body indicate that it belongs to the B + segment according to European standards: 4458 mm in length, 1493 mm in height and 1755 mm in width. The distance between the axles of the sedan is 2572 mm, and the minimum clearance to the roadway is 120 mm (with load).
The interior of the three-volume box looks interesting and pleasant, well-assembled, and ergonomically well thought out. Inside, Arrizo 3 is in no way inferior to the "classmates" of more famous brands - a fashionable three-spoke steering wheel with control elements, deep "wells" of the dashboard with a small monochrome "window" in the middle and a center console narrowed downwards with a 7-inch screen of the infotainment complex and three By "washers" of the air conditioner.
In both rows of seats, riders will not feel a lack of free space, but the front seats are disappointing in terms of convenience - they are not only practically devoid of support on the sides, but also adjustable in limited ranges. But the rear passengers in the "troika" live more comfortably - the sofa has an optimal profile, and there is no floor tunnel.
The trunk of Chery Arrizo 3 is roomy - 502 liters in the "stowed" state (only the lid hinges protrude deeply). The backrests of the rear seats fold down, but this creates an impressive step into the interior.
A full-size spare wheel and a set of necessary tools are hidden under the floor of the "hold".
Specifications. The Chery Arrizo 3 engine range includes only one possible option - an atmospheric gasoline unit of the Acteco family with four "pots" located in a row, a 16-valve timing belt and multi-point electronic fuel injection. With a displacement of 1.5 liters (1497 cubic centimeters), it produces a maximum of 109 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm.
A 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission is responsible for transferring the stock of thrust from the engine to the wheels of the front axle.
Depending on the modification, the B-sedan accelerates to a maximum of 165-190 km / h and, on average, "eats" 5.9-6.8 liters of fuel per "hundred" of the way in the combined mode.
From a technical point of view, Chery Arrizo 3 is a typical representative of the segment of budget cars - a front-wheel drive platform at the base with a transversely placed power plant, independent front suspension with classic McPherson struts and a semi-independent rear structure with a torsion beam. The car is equipped with a hydraulic power steering built into the rack and pinion steering system. The three-volume brake package is standard - ventilated discs at the front, drum devices at the rear and anti-lock braking system (ABS).
Options and prices. In the Celestial Empire, Chery Arrizo 3 is among the most affordable sedans - the price for it from local dealers varies from 57,900 to 74,900 yuan (~ 677,000-876,000 rubles, at the exchange rate at the beginning of 2016). It is possible that in the near future four-door sales will start on the Russian market.
The basic equipment of the car includes two front airbags, air conditioning, ABS with EBD, power windows for all doors, an audio system with a USB port and four speakers, and 15-inch wheel rims. The privileges of the "top" option are cruise control, leather trim, multifunction steering wheel, multimedia center with a 7-inch screen and "music" with six speakers.
